He said a mob of SP workers beat up policemen Sep 8 and a policeman was bashed up inside the a police station Oct 26. He also cited that a police official was transferred for booking irate SP workers Oct 25 and action was taken against two police constables for issuing a challan to a SP leader.
"Akhilesh Yadav owes an explanation to the people of the state and should also act against his partymen involved in attacks on police," the BJP spokesman said Tuesday.
Deputy Inspector General R.K. Chaturvedi, however, said the policemen were removed from their posts in the two cases to ensure a fair probe.
