Fortnight after unclaimed vehicle led to bomb scare, police find one more car in upscale area with no sign of owner or clue to his identity

A car was found abandoned in Lane No 4 in Koregaon Park yesterday, just over two weeks since a similar incident led to a bomb scare near a petrol pump in the upscale area.

Owner, own up please: The abandoned car that was found in Lane No
4, Koregaon Park yesterday. On investigation it was found that the car
was from Pimpri

"We found a black colour Ford Ikon with the number MH-12 X 0306 in Lane No 4.

Despite asking the people around the place, we did not get any information about the car," said Constable Sirke of the Koregaon Park police station. "We had to tow the car away.

Just a fortnight ago, there was a bomb scare near a petrol pump in Koregaon Park and we did not want to take any chances this time as well."

On further investigation it was found that the car was from Pimpri. "We have asked the RTO for further information. We searched the car and did not find any relevant documents.

There was no identity proof or any identification papers as such," said Inspector Deshmukh of the Pimpri police station.

"We are trying to find out whether it is a case of robbery or a case where an irresponsible citizen left the car and did not claim it. Investigations are on."
