Woman gets the shock of her life when her husband pushes her in the river; she lives to tell her tale

Dhanashree Kumbhar was all set to celebrate her first anniversary. A resident of Kalewadi area in Pimpri, Dhanashree (19) and her husband, Kishor, a stockbroker went for a late night movie in Pimpri to celebrate the occassion. On the way back, Kishor asked her to wait on the bridge on Pawana River, and for a surprise. To her shock, within seconds she found herself gasping for breath in the river. Dhanashree was rescued by some people gathered on the bank.

She sought help from a friend and registered a complaint at the Sangavi police station, after which Kishor was arrested and is in police custody. Incidentally, Kishor had been scheming for quite sometime.

Rescued in time
According to Dhanashree, Kishor had taken her to the river but did not react because there was always a crowd.

Dhanashree said their year-old married life was disrupted occasionally when the in-laws would force them to go in for a divorce. "My husband asked me to sign a document, which stated that if anything happened to me, it's me who'll be responsible for it," she said. "I never realised that the person I loved so much was after my life," she added.

PSI D P Jadhav, who is investigating the case said, "According to Dhanashree. Kishor made her sign the document forcibly."

The couple got married against their family's wishes and registered their marriage on December 20, 2008.

Dhanashree continued to stay with her parents till June this year after which, they started living together.
