Replying to a special mention motion of NPP legislator K L Meena, Minister of State for Mines and Wildlife R K Rinwa said five out of 43 tigers (22 male, 21 female) were missing from the RNP. They probably wandered into the adjoining forest areas including that of Madhya Pradesh, he said.

Besides 43 adult tigers, as per the May 2014 census, there were 16 cubs in the RNP and one of them had died in a fight
with other felines, Rinwa said. The next wildlife census would be held in May-June and a new monitoring system would set be up in Jaipur, the MoS said.

The state government was considering to form another Tiger reserve, he informed the Assembly.
