along Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

"Army troops launched an operation in the evening today when the infiltration bid by a group of heavily armed terrorists was detected by surveillance devices and alert sentries of Indian Army," Public Relation Officer (PRO), Jammu, Lt Col Manish Mehta said.
"The area has been cordoned off. A gun-battle took place between terrorists and Army troops," Lt Col Mehta said.
"The troops of Indian Army foiled an infiltration bid in Poonch sector at approximately 1700 hours killing three heavily-armed terrorists in the gun battle," PRO said.
"The search operations were going on till last reports came in," Lt Col Mehta said.
There have been no casualties and damage on our own side, he said, adding, the foiled infiltration bid and casualties were a big blow to the nefarious designs of terrorists and their handlers.
