If Jazz is your type of music, then the six-year-old Pune Jazz Club started by Ahmed Ebrahim (58) should definitely be your next stop. On the third Sunday of every month, enthusiasts meet at Max Mueller Bhavan to share the one common passion they hold dear Jazz music.

"Jazz includes world music and it has a variety of genres like rock, classical and Brazilian jazz. It's a lively and deep music," said Ebrahim.

Meetings
The club organises thematic presentations on works of popular Jazz musicians, live performances and group discussion. "Gen-X will keep jazz alive, as we have a large number of youngsters at the meetings," added Ebrahim, who believes that Pune has the potential to become India's jazz capital.

"I'm a jazz fan and the idea of a club struck me after I returned from Vancouver 10 years ago, but never imagined that it would become so popular," said Ebrahim.

Members
People listen to different kinds of music, as travel has increased and youngsters are eager to experiment. Max Babi, a club member, said, "Last year's Jazz Utsav received an overwhelming response, and this year too, we are planning a three-day event in November or December." Eminent maestros Saskia Laroo and Lumahama have also performed for a club event.

Another member and jazz enthusiast Sujit Patwardhan was excited when he heard about the club three years ago. Everybody is welcome to spend an afternoon at this club, as there is no membership fee.
