There seems to be no solution on the horizon for the city's water woes. The latest example is the Legislators' Home (LH), that houses MLAs and MLCs, that has been water-deprived since Monday afternoon.
The taps have been dry since around 2 pm from Monday and the situation had not changed at the time of going to press.
Surprisingly, no one knows the reason, and rumours are aplenty some say that the pumping motor is burnt; others say the main pipe has been damaged, and some say that the main tank which supplies water to the LH has gone dry.
There is no water in Legislators' Home since Monday afternoon. Thus, no one was able to take a bath and people were forced to go out to use toilet.
Maski MLA Pratap Gowda Patil's attendant, Basavana Gowda Patil, said, "There has been no water since Monday afternoon. No one was able to take a bath, and people were forced to go out of LH to use toilets.

Even after a complaint to the Public Works Department (PWD), no action has been taken yet."
Inconvenienced residents have been looking for water since Monday night but to no avail. "We are more worried about the next morning.
If the water supply is not restored, it will be an unnecessary bother for our families and us.
We had registered a complaint with the PWD and they promised us that they will rectify it, but nothing has been done about it yet," said Chetan Patil, Pratap Gowda Patil's son.
Visitors affected
Nisarga Hotel, which is situated in the LH premises, was shut down due to water scarcity yesterday. Ganesh, a hotel staffer, said, "It has become very difficult for us to run the hotel.
It is impossible to do so without water."
Hundreds of visitors throng LH to meet the leaders of their respective constituencies every day. "Each day around 70 to 80 people come to meet our leader.

Because of the overuse of bathrooms and scarcity of water, the rooms and the toilets in the Legislators' Home are stinking.

"Around 10 water tankers were brought to LH yesterday, but the taps went dry only after a few hours. There is no one to address the water problem here.
To add to our woes, we had no food or water yesterday, and the Nisarga Hotel was shut as well. People were forced to go out for breakfast and lunch," he added.
Even SP Nagaraj, PA to city MLC Dayanand Reddy, had to say the same. "If there is no water at LH, which houses people in power, one can just imagine the conditions the common people face," he said.
