'Customers' loot hotel
A hotelier in Mico Layout was robbed by three customers who came on the pretext of dinner and escaped with cash Rs 34,000 and his mobile phone.

When Mohammed Faizal was about to down the shutter of his hotel Tara Mount at around 11.45 pm on Saturday, three 'customers' barged in and demanded service. When Faizal replied in the negative, the trio started a verbal altercation with him and robbed the cash box. They fled after beating Faizal and snatching his mobile phone. The Mico Layout police have registered a case.

Areas in and around BTM and Mico Layout have become notorious for mugging, with working class being the soft targets. This is for the first time that the muggers have targeted a hotel and robbed the owner, said the police.

In another incident, a house in JK Farm near RV College on Mysore Road was burgled and valuables worth Rs 13 lakh looted. According to the police the owner of the house AB Devraj had gone out for locking the front door. On his return at around 11. 30 pm he found the front door broke open and valuables missing. The Kengeri police have registered a case.
