Bharatiya Janata Party's Maharashtra President and Member of Legislative Assembly MLA Ashish Shelar on Tuesday inspected the cleaning work of the drains in the western suburbs for the third day consecutive day
Shelar said, "The BMC should declare the clean-up data of how deep the sediment was removed, just like the statistics of the weight of the sludge. This will help citizens to know how much pre-monsoon cleaning work has been completed. Otherwise, the contractor will create a picture of cleaning by removing the floating sludge."
Ashish Shelar was accompanied by Member of Parliament Gopal Shetty, Members of Legislative Assembly Yogesh Sagar and Vidya Thakur, along with Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation ex-corporators
Oshiwara River along with a few other drains were inspected on Tuesday. The work of removing the silt was started at both places. Although the sea was full of water due to high tide, the picture showed that the sediment was coming out from the bottom with the help of JCB
A few weeks ago, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's Additional Commissioner (Projects) inspected the pre-monsoon work. The works are underway at various places in Mumbai by the roads, bridges, and rainwater channels
