This rally aims to demand accountability and action against prominent political figures, specifically Hindu seer Ramgiri Maharaj and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislator Nitesh Rane, for their alleged derogatory remarks targeting the Muslim community.
The controversy surrounding Ramgiri Maharaj and Nitesh Rane centres on remarks made during public meetings in Ahmednagar district.
Ramgiri Maharaj has been accused of making offensive statements about Islam and Prophet Muhammad, while Rane has been implicated for supporting these comments during his speeches.
This situation has led to widespread criticism and legal scrutiny, with multiple cases filed against Rane for inciting communal tensions through his speeches.
As part of his campaign, Jaleel announced his intention to present copies of the Constitution to Maharashtra's ruling Mahayuti leaders and senior police officials to remind them of the fundamental principles of justice and equality enshrined in the Constitution, which he believes are being overlooked in the face of rising communal tensions.
By gifting the Constitution, Jaleel hopes to reinforce the idea that all citizens, regardless of their background, are entitled to respect and protection under the law.
The rally witnessed substantial participation, with a large contingent from Nanded joining Jaleel as he made his way to Mumbai. Jaleel expressed gratitude for the support from citizens who cherish the cultural and historical legacy of Maharashtra, including figures like Phule, Shahu Maharaj, Ambedkar, and Shivaji Maharaj.
