Officials have confirmed that a short circuit was the cause of the fire that broke out in the Miya Kebabs restaurant. The fire was brought under control and extinguished by 1.38 am, preventing further harm to the building or surrounding area.
No injuries were reported in the fire at the Bandra restaurant. The firefighters managed to contain the blaze in a short time, and everyone in the vicinity was safely moved away from the site.
A video of the fire at Miya Kebabs restaurant has been circulating on social media since Monday morning. The footage shows flames and thick smoke emerging from the restaurant as firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze.
A similar incident happened on Thursday wherein a bungalow at the Lokhandwala Complex in Andheri caught fire.
When the Mumbai Fire Brigade were notified of the fire, they reached the spot with two fire tenders to tackle the flames. The fire was first notified around 9 am, officials said.
The bungalow's ground and first floor are affected by the fire. Employees from the electricity supply company, ambulance civic ward, and Mumbai fire department had rushed to the spot too.
