Gawli, who is serving a life term in Nagpur’s Central prison for murder of Shiv Sena corporator, is presently out on a 28-day furlough. Furlough is a leave from prison every convict is entitled to unless there’s law and order threat.

Dagdi Chawl was Arun Gawli’s stronghold during the days he was a gangster and it was his base of operations. After he metamorphosized into a politician, he has since then represented the locality as political leader.
Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Arvind Sawant was also spotted at the Dagdi Chawl pandal on Friday. Gawli and Sawant were also seen interacting with each other and were all smiles during their brief meet.
