Mumbai civic body seizes 134 goats from temporary markets in four days
The Mumbai civic body cracked down on goat-sellers ahead of Eid-al-Adha for alleged violation of norms and seized 134 goats from temporary markets in the last four days, an official said on Tuesday. "We are taking action if it is found that goats are being brought to the city directly from farms without making the mandatory entry in the Deonar abattoir. A few goat dealers violated rules by not paying Rs 169 per goat to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC)," said the assistant municipal commissioner, market department, BMC. (PTI)

Maha: Woman MLA slaps junior civic engineer, video goes viral
A video showing a woman legislator from Thane district of Maharashtra slapping a junior civic engineer in public view has gone viral on social media. The video clip shows Mira Bhayandar MLA Geeta Jain abusing two engineers of the Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation over razing a house which resulted in its occupants, including children, being forced to stay on the road ahead of monsoon.

A year after revolt two Senas observe `Traitors Day`, `Self-Respect Day` in Maha
Rancour, protests and accusations marked the first anniversary of the revolt in the Shiv Sena as rival camps in Maharashtra on Tuesday observed `Traitors Day` and `Self-Respect Day` as per their perception of a rebellion that shook the 57-year-old party and toppled a government. The Shiv Sena (UBT) led by former CM Uddhav Thackeray observed `Traitors Day` and vented its anger against the rebel MLAs, while the ruling faction of the outfit headed by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde marked it as `Self-Respect Day` and invoked the legacy of party founder Bal Thackeray. Mumbai reports 6 new Covid-19 cases
Six new coronavirus cases were reported in Mumbai on Tuesday, taking the tally of infections to 11,63,919, an official from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said. As per the civic body`s health bulletin, the toll remained unchanged at 19,773, while the count of recoveries reached 11,44,112 after eight patients recovered during the day.
