In a swift overnight operation, the Indian Air Force (IAF) on Saturday airlifted a liver and two kidneys from the Command Hospital in Pune to the Army Hospital (Research & Referral) in Delhi, giving a fresh lease of life to multiple patients awaiting organ transplants. The organs were donated by the brain-dead dependent of a soldier, officials said. The high-priority mission was carried out jointly by the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) and the IAF, underlining the military’s commitment to humanitarian service.

In a swift overnight mission today, the Indian Air Force airlifted a liver and two kidneys from CH Pune to Army Hospital (R&R), Delhi.

The organs, donated by a brain-dead dependent of a soldier, will give new life to multiple recipients.

A large tree collapsed in Maharashtra`s Thane city on Sunday, crushing three cars and an autorickshaw parked in its vicinity, a civic official said.
