A special court in Mumbai on Monday denied bail to an accused in the 2012 Pune blasts case. Munib Memon had sought bail citing delay in trial. When the Bombay High Court had rejected his bail plea in September 2022, it had directed the special court to finish the trial by the end of December 2023, Memon said in his plea.

Three employees of a power distribution company were caught taking a bribe of Rs 50,000 from a man to regularise electricity supply in Maharashtra`s Jalna city on Monday, an official said. Based on a complaint, the anti-corruption bureau (ACB) caught a junior engineer and two linemen while allegedly accepting the bribe amount, the official said.
