Mumbai News LIVE Updates: Five new Covid-19 cases reported in Thane, patient count reaches 108
The Thane Municipal Corporation today reported five new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the city to 108. Of these, 59 patients have successfully completed their five-day home isolation period. Currently, 16 patients are admitted to hospitals, with their condition reported as stable. Thirteen are being treated in private hospitals, while three are admitted at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital in Kalwa.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Sunday said adoption of a new sugarcane variety with 14 per cent sugar recovery rate could boost Maharashtra`s economy by Rs 25,000 crore. "Brazil has developed a sugarcane breed through biotechnology that offers 14 per cent sugar recovery. If we use a similar variety in Maharashtra, it could positively impact our state`s economy by Rs 25,000 crore," Gadkari said in his address at the silver jubilee programme of Saturday Club Global Trust in Nagpur, reported PTI.
