Thane: Seven-year-old boy feared drowned in swollen creek in Kalwa

A seven-year-old boy is feared drowned in a swelling creek at Kalwa in Thane district on Wednesday, an official said. A frantic search is underway for Rishi Usva, a resident of Nagsen Nagar, who accidentally fell into the flooded water body around 5.30 pm, said Avinash Sawant, the chief of the regional disaster management cell of the Thane Municipal Corporation. Rain fury: Cops rescue 35 passengers from bus stuck on flooded bridge in Maharashtra

At least 35 passengers had a close shave on Wednesday when the bus ferrying them got stranded in the middle of a swollen nullah in Maharashtra`s Chandrapur district before they were rescued by police personnel. The incident occurred in the morning when the bus coming from Madhya Pradesh headed towards Hyderabad got stuck on a bridge submerged by flooded Chincholi nullah in Rajura tehsil, 28 km from the Chandrapur district headquarters, a police official said.
