Mumbai: Western Railway’s RPF staff saves life of a lady passenger at Virar Station

In a latest incident, a lady passenger was saved from falling into the gap between the train and the platform at Virar Station during the peak hours on Thursday.

Time and again, Western Railway’s Railway Protection Force (RPF) came into limelight for saving lives of passengers at risk.


In a latest incident, a lady passenger was saved from falling into the gap between the train and the platform at Virar Station during the peak hours on Thursday.



"Head Constable Yamini Kant Mishra showed promptness & presence of mind to save  life of a lady passenger at Virar station," read a press release by Western Railway appreciating Yamini's prompt action.

According to Western Railway's Press release, a lady passenger, 27-year-old named Neha Ankesh,  was trying to catch a running local train at Virar station from Platform No. 2. While boarding the moving train, she slipped and fell down. "Head Constable Yamini Kant Mishra swung into action, pulled her away from the moving train and saved her from falling into the gap between the train and the platform," it read.

"After Ms. Ankesh was rescued, Head Constable Mishra helped her sit on a bench and arranged for First Aid to be done by the EMR doctor for a minor injury on her back. The lady passenger was grateful and thanked Head Constable Yamini Kant Mishra for saving her," the press release added.
