Western Railway adds 8 new AC train services

Six of these are new services while two are replacements

Western Railway adds 8 new AC train services

The new services will start from November 22

Western Railway on Friday announced the introduction of eight air-conditioned services. Of these eight, six are new services, and two are replacements, taking the total from 1,367 to 1,373.


“The services will start from November 22. With the introduction of these eight new AC services, the total no of AC EMU services will go from 12 to 20. Two of these services will be during peak hours and one each in both directions,” said Sumit Thakur, CPRO, Western Railway.


“In the Up direction, there are four services, out of which one is between Virar and Churchgate, two between Borivli and Churchgate and one between Goregaon and Churchgate. Similarly, in the Down direction, of the four services, one is between Churchgate and Nalasopara, two between Churchgate and Borivli and one between Churchgate and Goregaon,” he said.


“Consequently, two slow services between Churchgate and Bandra will be cancelled. The Bandra-bound slow local train from Churchgate departing at 9.07 am and Churchgate-bound slow local train from Bandra departing at 9.47 am will stand cancelled. 

Shailesh Goyal of the Western Railway Zonal Users’ Consultative Committee said, “We welcome the decision of adding more services. This is how we can slowly introduce more and more AC services, replacing the existing regular services.”
