Weather update: IMD issues yellow alert for Mumbai, Thane and Palghar

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Mumbai, Thane and Palghar on Monday and Tuesday. 


The IMD, in its bulletin on October 16, has forecast thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and light to moderate rains and gusty winds (30 to 40 kmph) likely at isolated places.  


According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), Mumbai and its suburbs will witness partly cloudy skies with light to moderate rainfall or thundershowers today.

Meanwhile, a high tide of 2.81 metre is likely to occur at 3.57 pm today in Mumbai. Also a low tide of 1.88 metre is likely to occur at 9.46 pm.  

The IMD Mumbai in its weather forecast has stated that the maximum temperature in Santacruz will hover around 34.4°C, while the minimum temperature will be 25.6°C.   

On the other hand, the maximum temperature in Colaba will be 34.2°C, while the minimum temperature will be 26.8°C.  
A yellow alert has also been issued for Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Pune, Kolhapur, Satara, Beed, Nanded, Latur, Osmanabad districts of Maharashtra predicting heavy rains at isolated places.
