Police advocate accuses actor of not cooperating with police; his lawyer confident about bail

The Vasai court is yet to take any decision on the bail of accused Sheezan Khan, who has been arrested by Waliv Police for abetting the suicide of actor Tunisha Sharma. In a hearing on Saturday, the court heard the arguments of advocates from both sides and reserved the decision to give bail for January 9. Khan has been in jail custody since December 31.

On Saturday, the advocate appointed by the police urged the court to not to give bail to Khan, as he was not cooperating with them and accused him of changing his statement. During the hearing, the police advocate also told the court that Khan had deleted his WhatsApp chats and the police were trying to retrieve these deleted messages from his mobile.

Khan’s advocate Shailendra Mishra, said, “We trust the law and we will get justice and bail for Sheezan Khan. Sheezan is innocent. He and his family are suffering, only because the police is not carrying out the investigation properly.
Sharma died by suicide on December 24. Khan was arrested after an FIR was registered by her mother Vanita Sharma. He was produced in the Vasai court on December 31 and was sent to jail custody for 14 days. Vanita is in Chandigarh and has been asked to be present in court on Monday.
