The Navi Mumbai police have reported three deaths due to accidents in a single day. According to the police report, in all three incidents, a motorcyclist was hit by a heavy vehicle being driven rashly, leading to the deaths. Two incidents were reported in Uran, while the third occurred in Kharghar. The police are investigating.

The first incident reported on June 10 was near the Kharghar flyover, when Swiggy delivery partner Anjani Kumar Morya, 22, was on his way to make a delivery. His motorcycle was hit by a truck driven by Vikas Narendra Patil, 44, leading to the death. Morya was taken to a private hospital where he was declared dead due to multiple injuries. The Kharghar police registered a case and arrested Patil.

The second incident was reported in Uran. Narendra Vamanrao Vinayakate, 37, a resident of Ulwe, was riding his motorcycle along the JNPT-Panvel road when he got hit by a speeding trailer truck. “The trailer truck driver, Jahir Sirajul Ali, was later caught and brought to the police station. Meanwhile, Vinayakate was taken to a private hospital where he succumbed to his injuries,” said a police officer. A case has been registered with Uran police.

The other incident reported in Uran involved Akshay Katkari, 21, who was headed to refuel his motorcycle on May 30 when he was hit by an unidentified heavy vehicle. The incident occurred in front of Aryan Yard on the road towards Gavanphata Road. “Katkari was admitted to hospital with serious injuries. On June 10, he succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the unidentified vehicle fled the scene without helping him. We registered a case on June 10 and are looking for the driver,” said an officer from Uran police station.
