Thane records 50 new Covid-19 cases, active tally at 372

Thane city has reported 50 new Covid-19 cases, taking its infection tally to 1,92,844, as per data received by Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) on July 24.


With the addition of the latest cases on Sunday, Thane currently has 372 active Covid-19 cases. With no coronavirus-linked fatalities reported in the last 24 hours, the death toll remained unchanged at 2,143.


As per the bulletin, 28 Covid patients recovered, taking the total number of recoveries since the beginning in the city to 1,90,329. The recovery rate in the TMC area is 98.70 per cent.


Meanwhile, Maharashtra on Sunday reported 2,015 fresh Covid-19 cases and six fatalities, taking the tally to 80,34,261 and the toll to 1,48,062.

The recovery count increased by 1,916 to touch 78,71,507, leaving Maharashtra with 14,692 active cases. As per state health department data, Maharashtra's recovery rate was 97.97 per cent and fatality rate stood at 1.84 per cent.
