The Thane police have arrested a 32-year-old school teacher for allegedly molesting a girl student. Suresh Sahebrao More, who teaches at a civic-run school, was arrested last night under section 354 of IPC (molestation), and also under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, said senior police inspector S M Patil.

One of the girls at the school had lodged a complaint with the police yesterday that More touched her inappropriately on a couple of occasions. He also addressed the girls in her class in an objectionable way, the complaint said.

When the girls said they would complain, he allegedly threatened to cut their marks in the examination. Police were verifying the girls' claim that they had
complained to the school headmaster about More's behaviour in the past, Patil said. Further probe is on.
