A massive fire broke out in an industrial estate in Vasai, Palghar district. According to the civic official, the fire engulfed ten properties, including workshops and storage facilities, within an industrial estate located in Vasai.


As per the official, the incident took place on Friday at approximately 8:30 pm, and continued to rage until 6:30 am on the following Saturday.


The Vasai Virar Municipal Corporation (VVMC) official stated that there were no reported injuries.


"Around seven fire engines rushed to the spot to carry out the firefighting operation. It wasn't until the following morning that the fire was successfully contained. At present, a cooling operation is in progress at the site to ensure that any residual embers are extinguished," the official from Vasai Virar Municipal Corporation informed.

"The exact cause of the fire is currently under investigation," according to statements made by the civic body's fire officer.

Meanwhile, a fire broke out at Dadar's Kirtikar Market, near Kabutarkhana, in the early hours of Saturday.

According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) official, the incident was reported at 01.39 am by the Municipal Fire Brigade (MFB).

Further, the official stated that the fire was extinguished by 04.40 am. No injuries have been reported due to the fire incident.

The fire broke out in two commercial blocks within Kirtikar Market, the civic official said. According to the civic official, it was reported to be Level-1 fire.

Multiple agencies, including BMC's MFB, the local police, BEST (Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport), and ward staff, quickly mobilised to the scene to combat the blaze and ensure the safety of the area
