Three members of the family were killed and two others were left injured as the speeding car they were travelling in jumped the divider and crashed into the truck coming from the opposite side on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway on Wednesday morning. The Valiv police station has filed a First Information Report (FIR) against the car driver.

According to an official, “The driver was speeding, and the car initially collided with the road divider before crashing into a truck on the opposite side of the road.” The truck driver shared his account with the police, saying, “Around 6 in the morning, a Maruti Dzire approached from the opposite direction and collided with my truck. There were five people in the car, of which three lost their lives, and two survived. The accident caused significant damage to both the car and the truck.”

The driver of the car, identified as Gordhan Sharma, is currently in the ICU. The incident occurred on September 6, around 6 am, near Satvali bridge’s Bajrang Dhaba. The car, initially headed towards Ahmedabad, collided with the road divider, veering in the opposite direction. A truck bound for Mumbai then collided with the car, resulting in the outcome, as stated by the police. The driver allegedly lost control of the car due to reckless driving.
