Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MLA Rohit Pawar made serious allegations on Sunday, claiming that 26 ongoing government hospital construction projects in Maharashtra remain incomplete due to a halt in funding, orchestrated by Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis although Deputy CM Ajit Pawar holds the finance portfolios. Pawar alleged that Fadnavis is attempting to exert control over his fellow colleague, as stated in a report in PTI.

According to the report, Pawar, who belongs to the Sharad Pawar faction of the Nationalist Congress Party, cited the situation in his own constituency of Karjat-Jamkhed, where he stated that construction work on government-run hospitals has come to a standstill due to a lack of funds. He noted that although Ajit Pawar serves as the finance minister, Devendra Fadnavis has allegedly imposed restrictions on fund disbursement without his approval.
Pawar raised concerns about the potential consequences, saying, "I find this to be an attempt to exert control over Ajit Pawar, who holds a designation equivalent to Fadnavis. Who will take responsibility if someone loses their life due to inadequate medical treatment?"
He also wrote, "We are always doing politics against each other... But it should be about ideas and principles... The time should come to tell a great leader like us that the common man should not be fed up with politics, what is more unfortunate than this!"

The MLA shared photographic evidence of the pending projects in his assembly seat in a social media post and asserted that this situation is mirrored in 26 locations across the state.
In response, Suraj Chavan, representing the Ajit Pawar faction, countered these claims by stating, "In his capacity as the finance minister, Ajit Pawar has allocated a total of Rs 1,827.65 crore in funds to your constituency, of which Rs 106 crore is allocated through the public health department, and Rs 25 crore is designated for the enhancement of healthcare services in the two tehsils."
Chavan emphatically asserted, "There is no one who can control Ajit Pawar. Ajit Dada never plays politics with such vital projects."
