RESPONDING to the social media chatter after a mid-day report dated November 4 about the Ambani family set to divide their time between London and Mumbai, Reliance Industries Limited in an unsigned statement late on November 5 clarified that Mr Mukesh Ambani and his family “have no plans whatsoever to relocate or reside in London or anywhere else in the world”. While the mid-day report clearly said that the family will be dividing its time between London and Mumbai, social media chatter veered towards the extreme, speculating that the family will leave India.

The statement also said the group is committed to enhancing the heritage Stoke Park estate as a “premier golfing and sporting resort, while fully complying with the planning guidelines and local regulations.”

The local press in Buckinghamshire had reported in June that Stoke Park was shutting down for renovations and that its workforce was drastically downsized.

The RIL statement did not go into the reasons for the family’s recent absence from their Mumbai home nor did it mention anything about their Diwali 2021 celebrations.
