Mumbaikars had to face heavy traffic for second consecutive day at Ambedkar Road and Parel
Motorists were harassed for the second consecutive day, as the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) started repair work on the Gloria Bridge in Byculla on Friday morning. The road work led to chaos and traffic deviations at rush hour.

Heavy traffic was seen after vehicles on Lalbaug Parel flyover were asked to ply below the flyover and towards P’Dmello road, to reach CST. This was to lessen the traffic on Ambedkar Road, whose south-bound stretch was already congested.
Heavy traffic was also seen at Parel and Hindmata. The repair work is expected to continue for another 10 days.
Traffic cops and volunteers from various NGOs were spotted helping people with the diversions. However, BEST buses stuck to their routes and two wheelers were allowed to use the Ambedkar road.
“Traffic will be controlled soon, as the repair work is just for a few days. We have already displayed boards and there should be smooth flowing traffic on Monday,” deputy commissioner of Police (Traffic), SR Nilewad, told sunday mid-day.
