Manhas said he walked with Gandhi from Rampur in Telangana on Sunday. “My father Raghvir Manhas walked with Jawaharlal Nehru ji during the Quit India agitation and was jailed till 1945. It was a great honour for me to be with Nehru’s great grandson who has embarked on a mission to integrate India. I told Rahul ji about the connection and he was very happy,” he said. Congress workers from Mumbai have left for Nanded via road, rail and air. All hotels, lodges and mangal karyalayas there have been booked for their accommodation.
