The Pune police has arrested two terror suspects who were wanted by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for their alleged involvement in terror-related activities. The suspects, identified as Mohammad Imran Mohammad Yunus Khan (23) and Mohammad Yunus Mohammad Yakub Saki (24), are graphic designers and hail from Ratlam in Madhya Pradesh.

The suspects, identified as Mohammad Imran Mohammad Yunus Khan (23) and Mohammad Yunus Mohammad Yakub Saki (24), are graphic designers and hail from Ratlam in Madhya Pradesh.
The arrest took place after a patrolling team apprehended three persons on suspicion of trying to steal a motorcycle in Pune's Kothrud area. During the checking, one of the suspects managed to escape. The two arrested suspects were found to be wanted by the NIA in a terror-related case in Rajasthan and had been residing in Kondhwa area, Pune, for the past 16 months.

At the time of their arrest, the police seized a live cartridge, two holsters, four mobile phones, and a laptop from their residence. The police are investigating whether the suspects possessed any firearms.
The police sought an eight-day custody of the suspects in a judicial magistrate (first class) court, stating that they were wanted in a case registered under the Explosive Substances Act and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. The prosecution informed the court that they had also found suspicious items such as a magazine, the cover of a drone camera, "white colored pills," and a forged Aadhaar card.

The defense counsel argued that the present case was different from the one registered by Pune's Kothrud police station, citing various Indian Penal Code sections and acts. However, the court deemed their police custody necessary due to the serious nature of the charges under the UAPA Act and remanded them in police custody until July 25.
The third suspect, who escaped, is said to be from Jharkhand, and authorities are actively trying to apprehend him. Further investigations will reveal more about the suspects' alleged involvement in terror-related activities and any potential plans they might have had in Pune. (With inputs from PTI)
