The Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport Undertaking on Wednesday announced diversions of several bus routes due to PM Modi's Mumbai roadshow. BEST, in their social media statements, said that the diversions will remain in effect till the roadshow concludes.

PM Modi's Mumbai roadshow for Lok Sabha Elections 2024 will be starting from Ashok Silk Mill in Ghatkopar West and end at Paswanath Jain Temple in Ghatkopar East.

The BEST said that the commuters should plan their routes accordingly and expect delays and added that the Bus no 404 will be diverted via Digambar Jain Mandir, Hanuman checkpoint, Nadkarni Marg, and Odean cinema starting from 1:40 pm. Additionally, routes 379, 381, 430, and 481 will be diverted from Noble Medical near Ghatkopar Station (East) and will travel via R.B. Mehta Marg, Vikrant Circle, Garodia Nagar, and M.G. It further added that the LBS road will be closed in the "DN" direction from Gandhi Nagar junction to Shreyas junction starting from 2:30 pm. All routes will be diverted via the link road, Eastern Express Highway, GKD, and Shreyas junction.

The undertaking, sounding alert on diversion due to PM Modi's Mumbai roadshow, said that LBS road will be closed in the UP direction from Kurla Depot Junction. Police ban drones, paragliders, and balloons for PM Modi's Mumbai rally

During Prime Minister Narendra Modi's scheduled visits to Mumbai, the Mumbai Police announced that drones, paragliders, balloons, kites, and remote-controlled microlight aircraft would not be allowed in the city. On Wednesday, PM Modi is expected to carry out a campaign roadshow in Ghatkopar, and on Friday, he will speak at a public gathering in the same city.

Under section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations) issued prohibitory orders from 00:01 on 15 May (Wednesday) to 24:00 on 17 May (Friday). The purpose of the prohibition is to protect public safety and avert possible security risks when PM Modi is visiting.

The directives express worries about potential terrorist or antisocial behaviour involving aircraft, which might jeopardise public security and disrupt peaceful public spaces. Disobeying valid directions from a public servant is punishable under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for anyone who violate these directives.

In addition, traffic cops have meticulously planned for PM Modi's campaign roadshow, which will take place over 2.5 km on Wednesday in Ghatkopar. During the event, there will be closures on parts of Mahul-Ghatkopar and LBS roads from 2 pm to 10 pm. To guarantee traffic flow, other routes will be available for vehicles.
