Omicron has shifted direction to interiors of Maharashtra

On Sunday, 50 more patients with the Omicron infection were reported in the state. Of these, 38 have been reported by the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) and 12 patients have been reported by National Centre for Cell Science (NCCS).


Out of these, 36 cases were reported from Pune city, eight from Pimpri Chinchwad, two from Pune Rural, two from Sangli and one each from Thane and Mumbai. Till date, a total of 510 patients infected with the Omicron variant have been reported, out of which 328 are from Mumbai. There were 193 patients who were discharged following a negative RT-PCR test result.
