The actress and Wadia had ended their relationship in 2009. Zinta approached the Marine Drive police station on Thursday night, nearly two weeks after the incident, and registered an FIR against Wadia. The FIR states that Wadia had hurled abuses at Preity during the KXIP vs CSK match at Wankhede Stadium around 8 pm on May 30.

Preity says in the FIR that she asked Wadia to stop, but he threatened her instead. The actress then decided to leave the match mid-way and stood up from her seat, prompting Wadia to pull her hand and allegedly say, “You f **** g b***h, you have shown your class, f **k you f **k you.” This allegedly happened in front of spectators who had come to watch the match.

Booked
Based on Zinta’s complaint, the Marine Drive police have registered a case against Wadia under sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code. “We have registered an FIR and investigations have begun.

Our job will be to record statements of witnesses first, and only then will we question Wadia,” said Pravin Chinchalkar, senior police inspector at Marine Drive police station. Varun Soni, a spokesperson from the Wadia Group, said, “We can’t comment on the matter until we see the FIR.” Preity Zinta’s spokesperson said she is travelling and, hence, cannot comment on the matter.
