Navi Mumbai: NMMC staffers set to get Diwali bonus

Navi Mumbai: NMMC staffers set to get Diwali bonus

All officers and staffers will get Rs 27,000, contractual and temporary staff will get Rs 21,000 and Asha workers Rs 11,000

All Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) officers and staffers are set to get an ex-gratia payment before Diwali. NMMC Commissioner Rajesh Narvekar has made an announcement to this effect on Thursday.


As per the order, NMMC officers and employees, primary and secondary teachers as well as officers and employees who are transferred, deputed or trainees from the state government will get Rs 27,000.



Similarly, officers, employees and health workers on daily wages, as well as kindergarten teachers and helpers, who are temporarily working on minimum wage, will be provided with a grant amount of Rs 21,000.

Apart from this, all contractual employees appointed by the government under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and National Health Mission on contract basis, who are getting remuneration from the government, will get a goodwill grant of Rs 21,000 and Asha workers will get Rs 11,000. A total of 4,454 employees will get the benefit.

“Each and every employee in NMMC is working hard to run the city and keep it clean and habitable. It’s our duty to give them encouragement against the backdrop of the Diwali festival,” said Narvekar.
