An official said on Tuesday that a 36-year-old Navi Mumbai man was arrested by police for allegedly raping a woman after promising to marry her, reported news agency PTI.

The 29-year-old woman had lodged a complaint against Mosin Hanif Muzawar at Panvel police station, reported PTI.
She was having an affair with the accused who raped her after promising to marry her but later walked out of the relationship, she told police, reported PTI.
A case under IPC sections 376 (rape) and 376(2)(n) (committing rape repeatedly on same woman) was registered on Monday and Navi Mumbai man was arrested the accused was held late at night. Further probe was on.
In another case, a man was arrested in Kalyan in Thane district for allegedly raping a teenaged girl, a police official said on Sunday, reported PTI.
One more person is wanted in the case and efforts are on to nab him, the MFC police station official said.
The arrested accused was identified as Anish Pandey whereas the man on the run is Abhishek Dere, the official said, reported PTI.
"The man took the girl to an isolated place on June 6 after lying that her father had called her. The accused forced her to drink alcohol and raped her. The other person videoed the act. She was found near her house in an intoxicated state after which her kin approached police," he said, reported PTI.
Meanwhile, a 21-year-old man was arrested on Monday in Palghar for allegedly bludgeoning his girlfriend to death, a police official said, reported PTI.
The accused, identified as Sumit Tandel, was in a relationship with the victim for several years, the Boisar police station official said, reported PTI.
"The two lived in Murbe village and worked in the same factory. They had a fight during which he hit her with a stone. He was held from Satpati," the official said.
