Mumbai’s tests positive rate drops to 3.4 per cent

Of 16,805 tests, only 571 were positive, lowest since outbreak; recovery rate increases to 94 per cent

The TPR, positive patients among 100 tests, dropped further on Saturday. Of 16,805 tests conducted, only 571 tests turned positive which shows a TPR of 3.4 per cent, the lowest since the outbreak of the pandemic. The recovery rate, too, has also increased to 94 per cent now. COVID-19 cases across the state dropped below 3,000 on Saturday with 52 deaths. 


The city recorded eight deaths, out of which seven patients had comorbidities. Meanwhile, 700 patients recovered in the city and now Mumbai has a caseload of 6,965 active patients. 


The state recorded 2,910 COVID-19 patients, out of which one third- 1083 reported in the MMR including Mumbai. Thane city recorded 100 cases and Kalyan Dombivali registered 106 cases. 


Pune circle and Nagpur circle registered 592 and 437 cases respectively. Out of 52 deaths, 12 deaths were reported in MMR as well as in Pune. The cumulative number of cases in the state is 19.87 lakh and the recovery rate of the state has stabilised at 94.8 per cent.
