Mumbai saw a marginal rise in new Covid-19 cases, though the numbers remained below 400 on Tuesday. There was a dip in Covid-19 fatalities. As per the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) report, 394 new cases were reported on Tuesday along with six deaths. The test positivity rate saw a rise at 1.36 per cent.

The doubling rate improved and was at 1,200 days on Tuesday. While five of the deceased had comorbidities, one was in the age group 40 years to 60 years, the other five were in the age group above 60 years. The city’s recovery rate remained constant at 97 per cent as 477 people recovered and were discharged on Tuesday.
The state’s Covid-19 cases saw a marginal rise on Tuesday but they remained below the 3,000 mark. As per the state health department, 2,844 cases were reported. The state’s Covid-19 fatalities nearly doubled as 60 deaths were reported. The state’s case fatality rate remained constant at 2.12 per cent as 3,029 people recovered and got discharged on Tuesday. Currently the state has 36,794
active cases.
Like the state, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) also saw a marginal rise in new cases on Tuesday. As per the state report, 874 cases were reported in the MMR including cases from Mumbai. Apart from Mumbai, Raigad reported the maximum number of daily cases in the MMR with 94 new cases. It was followed by Thane Municipal Corporation with 80 cases. While Navi Mumbai saw 65 cases, Thane witnessed 42 cases and Mira-Bhayandar had 31 cases. Vasai-Virar had 28 cases and Panvel reported 57 cases.
MMR, excluding Mumbai, registered four deaths on Tuesday. While Panvel reported three deaths, highest in MMR after Mumbai, Ulhasnagar had one death.
