Mumbai weather update: Heavy to very heavy rains till July 27; IMD issues orange alert

The India Meteorological Department regional centre in Mumbai on Wednesday issued orange alert for Mumbai and other districts of Maharashtra indicating that heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur at scattered places.

The India Meteorological Department regional centre in Mumbai on Wednesday issued orange alert for Mumbai and other districts of Maharashtra indicating that heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur at scattered places.


Besides Mumbai, the orange alert was issued for Pune, Kolhapur and Satara districts.



As per a five-day district forecast, the intensity of rain in isolated places is expected to reduce to "heavy" during next two days when a yellow alert has been issued for Mumbai while it may further reduce to "moderate" on July 28. However, the orange alert will continue in Raigad, Thane and Ratnagiri over the two to three days.

Palghar District:

26 Jul: Heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places (Very Likely)

27 Jul: Heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places (Very Likely)

28 Jul: Heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places (Very Likely)

29 Jul: Heavy rainfall at isolated places (Very Likely)

30 Jul: Moderate rain (Very Likely)
