Taking advantage of the festive season, the ‘dhakka gang’ has once again intensified its activities in South Mumbai. In the last week, six cases of bag lifting and robbery have been reported in MRA Marg and LT Marg police stations. Police suspect that the gang is targeting the southern part of the city, as it is a favourite shopping destination for many. And as it remains crowded most of the time, their modus operandi works quite well. While one member of the gang gives the target a ‘dhakka’, another member snatches the valuables and runs away.
