Bollywoood superstar Salman Khan’s bodyguard, Sher Khan alias Shera, has been booked by the D N Nagar Police in Mumbai in connection with an assault case.
According to the D N Nagar police, the fight between Shera and the victim, a waiter in popular hotel, took place over an argument, after which Shera attacked the victim. He received serious injuries on his neck and fractured his shoulder.
According to the police, the incident took place around 1.50 am on Tuesday when the complainant, Athar Amar Qureshi, was walking on the road near Indian Oil Nagar, Andheri. Qureshi, earlier, had a minor dispute with Shera in the restaurant after which Shera and his two friends (also bodyguards) stopped Qureshi and hit him with a pistol on his right shoulder.

Later, they assaulted him with a baseball stick and, after pushing him on the ground, kicked him. The three fled in their Audi Q series car, leaving the victim on the ground, who is now being treated in a private hospital. The victim has suffered a fracture on his shoulders, informed the police. “We have registered a case and are investigating the matter further,” said a senior police officer of the Mumbai Police.

Shera has been booked under section 323 of Indian Penal code (IPC) for voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means, 504 Intentional insult with the intent to provoke breach of the peace, 506, punishment for criminal intimidation and Indian Weapons Act.
The D N Nagar police are likely to question him and may take a call on arresting him later in the day as well.
Salman Khan’s family was contacted by e-mail, but no response has been received so far.
