Owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, Republic Day this year may not be as extravagant as Indians are used to witnessing but the spirit of the day has very much engulfed the city.

On the evening of Monday, Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, BMC headquarters and Mantralay were illuminated in tricolour lights to mark the 72nd Republic Day of the largest democracy of the world.
The famous Shivaji Park is all set to host Republic Day celebrations. This year, only Maharashtra Police, Mount Police, SRP and Police bands will be participating in the parade. Earlier, various contingents were spotted carrying out rehearsals for the parade tomorrow. Workers were seen decorating the gates of the park today for tomorrow’s parade.
Also, kids were spotted at Wadala's Bhakti park rehearsing in tricolours for the parade tomorrow.

Not to mention, thousands of agitating farmers from across the state of Maharashtra have gathered in Azad Maidan, on the occasion of Republic Day to protest against Centre’s three farm laws and show solidarity with the protesting farmers in the national capital who will be taking out a tractor march tomorrow.
