No one injured as structure had been vacated and nobody was inside the cars

A part of a vacant building collapsed during demolition in Borivli on Friday evening. No one was injured but the debris fell on four to five vehicles that were parked on the road next to the building. Kamla Residency, a four-storey building, was being pulled down on Friday after it was vacated. The building is located on L T Road in Vazira Naka, near Anand School.

“The building is under redevelopment and the work was being carried out by the contractor appointed by the developer. During demolition, a few parts of it fell on the parked vehicles nearby,” said Prakash Vichare, assistant commissioner of R Central ward. The vehicles got damaged in the incident. No injuries were reported. Fire engines and a police team were at the accident site.
