After the BMC increased the daily vaccination capacity and allowed the walk-in facility for healthcare workers, the drive gained pace. More than 50,000 workers have been vaccinated till Tuesday out of the 1.3 lakh registered. On Tuesday alone, 6,387 workers received the vaccine. 


While earlier the drive was being conducted four days a week, it has now been extended to six days. Even the number of centres has been increased from 10 to 12 and booths from 40 to 80. 


On Tuesday, which was the 12th day of the drive, the corporation completed vaccination of 53,784 registered healthcare workers. Most of the vaccinations have taken place at Ambedkar hospital in Kandivli and Rajawadi in Ghatkopar. 


On Tuesday, the maximum number of vaccinations took place in Rajawadi, followed by Ambedkar hospital and Nair hospital. Desai hospital vaccinated 108 healthcare workers. While JJ hospital administered Covaxin to 52 people on Tuesday, about 71 workers took the vaccine at the centre on Monday. Till now, 333 healthcare workers in the city have been given Covaxin. 

The BMC aims to give the first of the two doses of vaccine to all the registered healthcare workers by February 14.
