Around 50 per cent of doses were given as the second dose. Of the 37,489 doses given on Saturday, 18,643 were given as a second dose.
“We haven’t received any doses as of now and so, only a handful of centres will be open on Sunday. We have no idea when the next consignment will arrive in the city,” said Dr Mangala Gomare, executive health officer of the BMC.
Meanwhile, a third sero-survey conducted by the BMC showed the antibodies against COVID-19 increased in non-slum areas and decreased in slum areas since last June.
According to the sero-survey, 35.02 per cent of the men were found to have sero positivity. Among women, 37.12 per cent positivity was found. Sero positivity of 41.6 per cent was found in the blood samples taken from municipal hospitals.
“The findings from the sero survey corresponds to the current situation [in the city],” said a BMC officer.
