The Malvani police have arrested the accused, who was identified as Asif Shaikh. The accused killed his 38-year-old wife, Naseem, with a kitchen knife in front of their children at their residence in Jai Malhar Chawal Satarwadi in Madh Island.
According to the police sources, their 14-year-old son called his uncle, Waseem Khan, and informed him about the quarrels between the duo at 10:30 pm. He again called and informed that his father stabbed his mother multiple times and fled away around 11 pm.
Waseem Khan rushed to the spot and alerted the police about the incident.
The Malvani police reached the spot and rushed Naseem to the Dr. Babasaheb Shatabdi Hospital in Kandivali West, where doctors checked and declared her dead, said an officer.

During the investigation, it has been revealed that the duo got married 16 years back and had three children aged 14, 11, and 8. Shaikh used to work as a painter but he did not have any work during the monsoon and used to stay at home most of the time.
Waseem, brother of Naseem, told the police that Shaikh did not do any work. He had sold all the ornaments for his own expenses and the deceased used to work as a housemaid.
Last night, both of them had a fight. His nephew, Noor, called Waseem and informed him that his father has stabbed his mother, the officer added.
But according to what the accused told the police during interrogation, the deceased woman was in a relationship with some other person. The accused also saw her with the person many times and they often fought over it.
Yesterday, too, there was a fight between the duo about the same thing, after which he killed her with the intention of getting rid of her forever, said another officer.
A case had been registered under Section 302 of IPC. The accused was produced before the court today and was remanded to police custody, the officer further added.
