In a statement, the Western Railway said that to carry out maintenance work of tracks, signalling and overhead equipment, a jumbo block of five hours will be taken on up and down fast lines between Goregaon and Borivali from 10.00 hrs to 15.00 hrs on Sunday, 22nd October, 2023.

According to a press release issued by Sumit Thakur – Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, during the block period, all up and down fast line trains will run on Slow lines between Goregaon and Borivali.

Due to the block some up and down suburban services will remain cancelled and some of the Borivali slow locals will run up to Goregaon station.

"Detailed information to the effect is available with concerned station masters. Passengers are requested to please take note of the above arrangements," the Western Railway said.

Meanwhile, in an another statement earlier, the Western Railway said that some Western Railway trains will be affected by a scheduled block occurring between Chalthan and Gangadhra stations from the 18th to the 22nd of October, 2023. The block is essential for the launching of a 36-meter composite girder as part of a road overbridge (ROB) construction project, the Western Railway said in a statement.

It said, this block will be operated on both the UP and Down lines along the Surat-Bhusaval line of the Tapti Valley section.

Western Railway officials have announced the rescheduling of several trains due to this block, affecting passenger travel plans. The Chief Public Relations Officer, Shri Sumit Thakur, issued a press release detailing the rescheduled trains as follows:

Train No. 19046 Chhapra – Surat Tapti Ganga Express: Passengers with journeys commencing on the 17th, 18th, and 21st of October, 2023, will experience a 2-hour rescheduling.

Passengers affected by these rescheduled journeys are kindly requested to take note of the changes in their travel plans. The Western Railway authorities have taken these measures to ensure passenger safety and to facilitate the construction of the important road overbridge.

In an another statement, the Western Railway said that Varanasi Yard remodelling was commissioned on October 15.

It said, a massive 663 route EI having 283 signals, 214 points along with block working in 6 directions including yard modification involving 158 new Turnouts and track linking with RE of nearly 38 km has been commissioned after tireless hard work and meticulous planning.
