Harbour line passengers are allowed to travel via Main Line and Western Railway from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm during the block period.

Meanwhile, the Western Railway on Friday said that there will be a no day block on Sunday and it will operate a night block between Churchgate and Mumbai Central (Local) stations.

In an official statement, the Western Railway said that to carry out maintenance work of tracks, overhead and signalling equipment, a jumbo block of four hours will be taken on up and down fast lines between Churchgate and Mumbai Central (Local) station from 00.15 hrs to 04.15 hrs on Sunday, 12th November, 2023.

According to a press release issued by Sumit Thakur, Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, during the block period, all fast line trains will be operated on Slow line between Churchgate and Mumbai Central (Local). Some suburban trains will remain cancelled during the block. Detailed information to this effect is available with concerned Station Masters.

The Western Railway said, "there will be no block in the day time over Western Railway Suburban Section on this Sunday, 12th November, 2023."

Meanwhile, Owing to their popularity and commuters’ growing demand, Western Railway has decided to increase the number of AC local trains in the Mumbai Suburban Railway.

With the introduction of 17 new services, the total number of AC trains will now rise from 79 to 96. To meet the demand of passengers on the Dahanu line, a pair of Dahanu Road to Andheri local trains is being extended to Churchgate.

“For the benefit of passengers and to reduce crowding, 17 more AC services are being augmented over Western Railway. There will be no change in the total number of services; that is, the count is 1,394 services including the 96 AC local train services,” WR Chief Public Relations Officer Sumit Thakur says. Thakur adds that of the additional 17 services being introduced, nine are in the direction of Churchgate, while eight are in Virar’s direction.

"There has been a substantial rise in the number of commuters traveling by AC local trains. Hence, for the benefit of passengers and to ease the crowd, 17 more AC services are being augmented over WR. These services will run as AC services from Monday to Friday and will run as non- AC services on Saturday & Sunday.
