The Central Railway on Friday shared Mumbai local train updates for Sunday and said that it will operate a mega block on January 21.


In an official statement, the Central Railway said that its Mumbai division will operate mega block on its suburban sections carrying out various engineering and maintenance works on 21.1.2024 as under:


Mulund - Matunga Up fast lines from 11.05 am to 3.55 pm


Up fast line services departing Thane from 10.50 am to 3.46 pm will be diverted on Up slow line between Mulund and Matunga stations halting as per their scheduled halts, will be re-diverted on Up fast line at Matunga and will arrive destination 15 minutes behind schedule.

Kurla-Vashi Up and Down Harbour lines from 11.10 am to 4.10 pm
 
Down Harbour line services to Vashi /Belapur/Panvel departing CSMT Mumbai from 10.34 am to 3.36 pm and Up Harbour line services for CSMT Mumbai departing Panvel/Belapur/Vashi from 10.16 am to 3.47 pm will remain cancelled.
 
However, Special services will run between CSMT Mumbai and Kurla & Panvel and Vashi during the block period.
 
Harbour line passengers are permitted to travel via Thane-Vashi / Nerul stations from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm

The Central Railway said, "These maintenance mega blocks are essential for infrastructure upkeep and safety. Passengers are requested to bear with the Railway Administration for the inconvenience caused."

Meanwhile, the Western Railway on Thursday said, to carry out maintenance work of tracks, signalling and overhead equipment, a jumbo block of three hours will be taken on up and down fast lines between Vasai Road and Vaitarna stations on the intervening night of Friday/ Saturday i.e. on 19th/20th  January, 2024.

According to a press release issued by Sumit Thakur, Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, the block on UP Fast line will be undertaken from 23.55 hrs to 02.55 hrs, while on down fast line it will be from 01.35 hrs to 04.35 hrs. Due to the block, Train No. 19101 Virar-Bharuch MEMU will be delayed by 15 minutes and hence will depart from Virar at 04:50 hrs instead of its scheduled departure at 04:35 hrs.

Detailed information to this effect is available in concerned Station Master’s office.

The Western Railway said, "There will be no block in the day over Western Railway suburban section on this Sunday, 21st January, 2024."
