Mumbai: FIR against three marriage halls in Vakola for violating safety norms

FIR has been lodged by health department BMC H East ward at Vakola police station against the three marriage halls for violating the rules of - no gathering of more than 200-300 people, wearing face masks and following social distancing.

Fresh cases of COVID-19 are on the rise for the past two weeks in Mumbai. The city has been witnessing more than a thousand cases since Wednesday. On Friday, the cases were 1,034. The city had reported 1,167 and 1,145 cases on Wednesday and Thursday.


However Mumbaikars still don’t seem to get a hang of safety norms laid down by the government as three halls in Vakola, Santacruz East hosted marriage parties and flouted COVID-19 norms on the night of February 26.



FIR has been lodged by health department BMC H East ward at Vakola police station against the three marriage halls for violating the rules of - no gathering of more than 200-300 people, wearing face masks and following social distancing.


Meanwhile the civic body, which awaits clarity from the state government on Phase 2 of the COVID-19 vaccination programme, said it would hold a meeting on February 27 to chalk out a plan to inoculate the city’s senior citizens and people aged above 45 with comorbidities.
